Trocadero Marbella come close to upsetting leaders Liceo Francés

Trocadero Marbella pushed Liceo Francés de Madrid to the limit despite a 17-22 home loss to the league leaders.

The hosts also had to deal with a sending off, which was shown to one of their players after he received a second yellow card.

The leaders arrived in Marbella undefeated, and therefore the hosts' gameplan consisted of using the counter-attack as an outlet.

The tactic worked immediately as Tim Louw went over within five minutes following good work from Lucas Pomposiello.

The score seemed to anger the beast in Liceo Francés, as they responded with two tries of their own on the fifteen and thirty-minute marks, which saw them go into half-time 12-5 up.

Marbella reduced the deficit 12 minutes into the second half through Augusto Nuñez, after Gastón Fernández had started the move from his own 22-metre line, before Kike González put Marbella in a strong position with 20 minutes remaining when his try put the hosts 17-12 ahead.

However, a second try for the Liceo Francés hooker and the fatal score a few minutes from the end after the red card saw the leaders keep their unbeaten run going and their lead at the top intact, while Marbella remain in sixth.source surinenglish
