A decision over the concession currently held by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani for La Bajadilla port has been brought forward as interested parties from Miami and Dubai start to circle.
The plan to expand the Marbella port into one of the biggest and most important on the Mediterranean has been brought to a standstill after a series of unfulfilled promises made by the sheikh’s company Nas Marbella.
This company has until Saturday, 5 November, to state its intentions or present plans to carry out the project. But if as expected it doesn’t, the concession is set to be removed and put out to tender by the end of the year.
At present, Damac, a property development company in the Middle East, based in Dubai (UAE) and Melbros, from Miami, are already vying for the contract when it becomes available. source surinenglish
