For the second time in 15 years, Bioparc Fuengirola has successfully bred the Borneo orangutan. First time mum Suli and her offspring have been under careful observation and both seem healthy and happy.
Orangutans are the primates that dedicate the most time to the care of their offspring, looking after them for around seven years. From day one, technical equipment has been used to monitor the newborn's progress. This takes the form of cameras within the enclosure.
With the birth of the orangutan, a visit to Bioparc Fuengirola becomes even more of a necessity. The experience of seeing beautiful species from other continents, many of them in danger of extinction, is combined with the emotion of observing newborns and watching them grow up. A truly unique experience in the heart of Fuengirola.source surinenglish
